Basic errors and malfunctions
There are a fairly large number of errors that the Wiesmann boiler can produce in case of problems in operation.
Error code 06
Indicates that the system burner is blocked. The problem occurs due to insufficient pressure build-up in the water heat exchanger. To prevent such a code from appearing, the operating pressure in the membrane barrel should be maintained. At the inlet, it should not be lower than 0.8 bar. To eliminate the breakdown, it is enough to bleed excess air from the radiators and replenish the volume of coolant through the make-up valve.
The make-up valve for Viesmann gas boilers is located in the lower part of the body on the front side.
Error code 0A
If this fault occurs, the burner will also be blocked. The reason for the violation lies in the too low dynamic pressure of the incoming gas. Permissible rate of dynamic pressure for the smooth operation of the system is 8-25 mbar.
To fix the problem, you will need to check the pressure in the system with a gas pressure gauge. If the gas is supplied with insufficient force, you must call the gas service company to increase the pressure. If the gas flows with normal force, the problem lies in the malfunction of the pressure control switch. Only a service center can help in this case.
Error code 0C
Also, the burner is immediately blocked. The reason lies in the low voltage of the network where the boiler is connected. This usually happens when several powerful devices are connected to the power grid at once. As soon as one of them is turned off, a sufficient voltage level will be restored. In order not to think about possible problems with the power supply of the boiler, it is enough to install a stabilizer.
CC error code
This violation signals the failure of the external expansion module. To correct the situation, it is necessary to restore the connection between the module and the boiler controller. Usually it is enough to check if the cable is connected to these two elements of the system, it sometimes falls out. If the wires are broken, a complete replacement of the cable will be required.
Error code F02
The violation is displayed when the burner fails. After the error code appears, you will need to check how full the system is with coolant.If necessary, excess air is bled, usually it stagnates in radiators or a circulation pump. If these manipulations did not help, you will need to check the operation of the temperature limiter.
To do this, you need to carry out the following manipulations:
- disconnect all cables connected to the sensor;
- check if the current passes through the limiter;
- if the limiter is not working, it should be removed;
- after dismantling, the place of the element is lubricated with heat-conducting paste;
- a new temperature limiter is installed;
- to unlock an element in the system, you need to type the mode and ok buttons in turn;
- re-ignite the boiler.
If checking and changing the temperature limiter did not help, you need to check if the gas burner is blocked. When it fails, it is better to contact the service.
Sometimes this error code is displayed when the connecting cable is damaged. The problem will not be solved until the connection between the elements is fully restored.
Error code F03
With this problem, the signal to start the flame appears before the burner starts. Typically, such a code indicates the need to repair the ionized electrode. In rare cases, it will be enough to reset the system and restart it and check how all the contacts are connected to each other. But more often a more serious repair is required.
Error code F04
With such a violation, the system does not receive a signal to start the flame. Usually the problem is solved by restarting the entire system. If this does not help, you will need to check the ionized electrode and ignition electrodes for damage. If they are mechanically damaged, you will need to contact the service center.
Error code F05
Violation lies in the furnace apparatus.After starting the burner, the air supply relay cannot open. The solution to the problem must be sought in the Air and Combustion Products system.
If there is ice on it, it should be knocked down.
- If the coaxial chimney is installed incorrectly, a correct installation is required.
- Perhaps the fan is not working, then you just need to replace the cooler.
- Sometimes you can see a melted venturi pipe, it should also be dismantled and installed on a new one.

Error code F08
Appears when the solenoid valve is blocked. With this error, the burner is also completely blocked. To remedy the situation, you will need to check whether the relay, valve are functioning and whether the connecting cables are interrupted.
Close attention must be paid to the solenoid valve:
- first, a new thermocouple is mounted;
- after that, the soldering iron is lit and brought to it;
- if the automatic system is triggered after the fire signal is received, the valve is in good order.
In this case, you will need to inspect the cables or contact the service if the problem is with the relay.
Error Code F10
In case of such a violation, the boiler will operate in the same mode, but, most likely, it will be necessary to replace the outdoor or room temperature sensors. The signal is given when a short circuit of the gas boiler sensors has occurred. If there are deviations in the permissible indicators on the devices, repair is required.
Error code F18
Appears when communication between the outdoor and room temperature sensors is lost. It can be lost due to a disconnected terminal, then it just needs to be put back in place. If the cable is broken, it needs to be completely replaced.
Error code F30
Indicates a short circuit in the boiler temperature sensor. You should immediately inspect it for damage and whether all cables are connected to it. In the event that outwardly everything looks normal, you will need to check the resistance. To do this, disconnect the cable and check the resistance indicators. If they do not meet the manufacturer's specifications, the sensor will need to be replaced.
Error code F38
Appears when there is no connection with the boiler temperature sensor. You need to restore communication by replacing the damaged cable or putting it back in its place. If this does not help, the sensor needs to be replaced.
Error code F51
The problem is related to the lack of water heating in the boiler. The violation appears after a short circuit of the sensor that measures the outlet water temperature. Before replacing the element, you will need to check its performance. To do this, you will need to disconnect the cables and check the resistance. If it deviates from normal, repair is required.
Error code F59
Appears when the water temperature sensors and the cylinder temperature sensor are open. Check the integrity of the plug and replace if necessary. If it is simply disconnected, you just need to carefully put it back in place.
Error code F70
Indicates problems in the external module. Appears only due to a short circuit of the temperature sensor in the collector S1, which is connected to the external module. A complete replacement of the sensor is required to restore system performance.
Error code F78
It is required to check the connection of the temperature sensor in the collector S1 with the external module. If the cable is disconnected, it needs to be pushed in tighter. If damaged, it is simply replaced. No other repairs are required.
Error code F80
The problem is also related to the external module. Appears only due to a short circuit of the temperature sensor in the collector S2. After checking the resistance level, it is required to replace the element with a new one.
Error code F88
Appears only if there is no electrical signal with the lower DHW cylinder sensor S2. It is directly connected to the external module. To fix the problem, it may be necessary to completely replace the sensor or the cable that is connected to the outdoor unit.
To verify that the sensor is malfunctioning, always pre-measure the pressure in it. If it is normal, the problem must be looked for elsewhere.
Error code F90
The violation is related to an external module. Appears when there is a short circuit in the upper sensor S3 of the DHW cylinder. After the diagnosis, if necessary, the element is repaired or replaced.
Error code F98
Appears only if there is no electrical signal with the upper DHW cylinder sensor S3. It is also, like other elements of this type, associated with an external module. To fix the problem, it is necessary to completely replace the sensor or cable that is connected to the external module. Sometimes it is enough to put the cable in its terminal.
Operating recommendations
In order to avoid errors, it is important to follow the manufacturer's recommendations for servicing gas boilers:
Only fresh water can be poured into the system, if necessary, making it less hard. The maximum allowable water hardness is 4.5 mg / l of salts and other impurities.
- Regardless of the quality of the water, it is still recommended to install additional filtering devices.They not only protect the system from hard water, but also screen out fine fractions that can shorten the life of the boiler.
- Remove ice from the system in a timely manner so as not to leave the heat supply.
- Do not leave the boiler unattended so as not to exceed the maximum allowable temperature inside the system. This leads to rapid burnout of the walls of the structure.
- Be sure to maintain the pH of the water at 6.5-8.5 units. Other indicators will lead to the inability of the device to function.
