Mounting options for piping of indirect heating boilers

Installation of piping of water circuits on indirect heating boilers can be mounted in three main ways:

  • With installation of a three-way valve,
  • With installation of two circulation pumps,
  • With the use of a hydraulic arrow.

Please note that the use of a water recirculation system significantly improves the efficiency of the heating system and increases the efficiency of water and space heating from the boiler.

This installation option for the indirect piping system is designed for structures with a large amount of hot water. When designing the system, the installation of two heating circuits will be calculated. The first - the main circuit will be intended for the circulation of water entering the heating system. The second, additional circuit will heat water intended for domestic use. In order for the water coming from the water supply system to enter one or another circuit, a three-way valve is used.The valve device is controlled by a boiler thermostat.

The use of a three-way valve when installing a heating system allows you to distribute the water flows to the boiler. The thermostat prevents the water from overheating and directs hot water into the circuits when it reaches a certain temperature. In the event that the water in the heating system cools below the specified threshold temperature, the boiler thermostat switches the valve and supplies a new portion of the coolant to the circuit responsible for heating. The water receives heat from the boiler and is heated. The thermostat controls the heating temperature and prevents excessive heating of the water and therefore damage to the system. Upon reaching the set temperature, water from the circuit is sent to the system. The water temperature is measured directly in the heating circuit of the boiler.

The moment of obtaining information about the water temperature is very important. In the event that the water in the tank for domestic use has a set heating temperature higher than in the heating circuit of the heating system, the system may start to work incorrectly. In this case, there will be no changeover to heating the heating circuit.

There is an option installation of an indirect heating boiler and two circuits. The choice of a possible option also depends on the water that is in your water supply. If the water in the main channels has a high degree of hardness, then it would be wiser to use a system with a three-way valve. Otherwise, the two-circuit system can quickly fail due to clogging.

Another option for installing a boiler piping system with an indirect heating system can be the use of two recirculation pumps. A non-return valve must also be installed in the system.

In this case, two separate heating circuits are installed in the system: a heating circuit and a domestic water heating circuit. Each of the circuits has its own recirculation pump, which directs the heated water to the system circuits.

Both circuits of indirect heating are mounted to the boiler in parallel. The priority for installation and use in the system is given to the boiler circuit. Thus, the circulation pump of the boiler system is located before the pump of the heating system. As in the previous version of the system, a temperature sensor is used to control both circuits, which redistributes water to the heating circuits.

In addition, the system has a check valve, the task of which is to prevent mixing of heated water flows.

The principle of operation of such a system is that as the temperature of the water decreases, it directs for heating and further into the heating system.

A system with two circuits and pumps can be installed with two heating boilers. Each of these boilers will have a separate power supply and will be responsible for heating water in one of the circuits: heating or for domestic use.

The heating system from boilers provides a fairly rapid heating of water in the heating system. For this, the boiler usually takes an hour. Thus, at the time when heating occurs in the boiler for the hot water circuit, the heating systems do not cool down.

To regulate the flow of water in the heating circuits, a hydraulic arrow is used. Simply put, it is a system for distributing coolant flows, which is somewhat reminiscent of an ordinary railway switch. Also, the hydraulic arrow during operation equalizes the pressure in several circuits of the system.

Each circuit in complex heating systems with several circuits has its own recirculation pump. At the same time, different pressures can be created in different parts of the heating and heating system. The pressure difference must be balanced. That's it for this in complex systems, collectors and hydraulic arrows can be installed. In addition, in order to equalize pressure indicators, specialized balancing valves can be used.

The use of a recirculation system allows you to get hot water from a tap in heating systems almost instantly, without a long wait. In this case, an annular coolant line is formed in the heating systems. Water constantly flows along this line and heats up. As a result, waiting for heating during domestic hot water use is practically eliminated.

In order for the water in such a circuit to constantly move, a recirculation pump is built into it.This constantly hot stream of water is recommended to be passed through devices that require constant heating, for example, through a heated towel rail.
